With the OSHA final rule on Personal
Protective Equipment (July 5, 1994), there is significant interest in
the use of sideshields on safety eyewear.
Sideshields are designed, manufactured,
and tested for use on the specific frame for which it is made.
Consequently, it is important to
understand that the liability for performance of the sideshields extends
solely to a particular frame that the shields were designed for and to
that particular manufacturer and no others.
